Based on the poetical ideasof symbolism, the paper intends to compare and contrast the works of WilliamButler Yeats and Charles Baudelaire, thus exploring Yeats’s literaryinheritance from Charles Baudelaire and his development of French symbolism bysetting up his own symbolic language system.
