This paper attempts to find out how autonomouslearning ability could affect the academic performance of bilingual learners.In order to assess the level of autonomous learning ability, questionnaires were distributed to senior studentsmajoring in English and French in a key university in China.Interviews were also made with several students and professors. Taking thestudents' TEM4 and TFS4 scores into consideration, students were divided intofour groups. Significant differences in autonomous learning ability were foundamong them. By analyzing the differences, this paper finds out the effect thatautonomous learning ability exerts on bilingual learners' academic performance.
