Abstract
This paper is designed for 6490 light bus drive axle, driving axle in the car's four major assembly occupies a very important role, its structural parameters for the car's power ride and other properties have a great impact. At present, this model is generally used for cargo manned two purposes, is an important means of transport, he does not need as high as the passenger car ride comfort, do not need a truck as large load, so The purpose of this design is to compromise these two aspects, the design of high economic after the drive axle. The design includes the main reducer, differential gear, axle, drive axle housing. The main reducer design includes structural selection and parameter design calculations, gear and bearing strength check. The differential includes the planetary gear, the axle gear parameter calculation and the strength check, the axle gear contains the specific size parameter, the spline parameter and the strength check. The bridge shell includes the strength check for various operating conditions.

1.1 Research background status and purpose
By analyzing the current situation and purpose of the research background, i hope to have a more profound understanding of the design for the drive axle.
1.1.1 Research background
6490 light bus rear axle, also known as the drive axle, which includes the main reducer, differential, half axle, so on. It has the function of slowing, increasing torque, changing the direction of torque transmission, and withstanding the ground and suspension of the vertical power transmission, longitudinal force, lateral force, and torque. The design of the main reducer structure and parameters affects the vehicle's power, fuel economy, and its durability and stability. Different type of vehicle match different parameters, such as loading quality, maximum speed, minimum turning radius, maximum climbing slope and so on.
China's auto industry in 2015 is in dilemma, and the accumulation of stocks is increasing, some manufacturers in order to ease the financial pressure, have none other but promotions. Therefore, in this case, companies should gain a firm foothold, we must try to reduce production costs. Driving axles in the car occupies a very important position, especially commercial vehicles, a simple structure, reliable performance, low cost of the drive axle, for the enterprise and the entire automotive industry can provide good benefits and development.
