本文分为三个部分： 第一部分将对作者生平、时代背景、小说内容和人物以及国内外的研究做简要概述。

第二部分是对三种冲突的展开分析，即个人与社会的冲突，人与人之间的冲突，人与自身的冲突。

第一个冲突分别从希斯克厉夫和凯瑟琳与社会之间的冲突展开，第二个冲突集中于希斯克厉夫与第一代人和第二代人之间的冲突，第三个冲突分析希斯克厉夫和凯瑟琳与自身的冲突。
