some scholars considered that the play is full of love and death.

in the hope of figuring out what hamlet tells about, i have first of all read the chinese version. in this way, a shorter period of time is needed for getting familiar with the content of the novel. another modernized tool---internet also does me a great favor, providing me with abundant background information. many scholars pays attention to such a thing: it is what that results in hamlet#8217;s revenge failure, such as character elements or environment element. much attention focuses on the death end. as far as i am concerned, it is invaluable to seek out some fine elements in a tragedy.

the thesis consists of five parts. the first part will primarily provide the background information, including a general introduction of shakespeare (her personal experiences, literary career, literary reputation and masterpieces), the play hamlet#8217;s main content and the purpose of the study. the second part is the literature review. in this part, the study will summarize or quote the previous study of this work and the author's comments on my topic. part three will focus on the love depicted in the play, such as the love between hamlet and his father (former king of denmark), the love between hamlet and his mother (the queen ,gertrude),and the most important, the love between hamlet and ophelia. part four will pay attention to the death in hamlet, such as the death of claudius, the death of ophelia, and the most important, the death of protagonist, hamlet. part five will draw a conclusion, summarizing all the love and death in hamlet.
