英语配音教学模式创新探析——以武汉理工大学为例Analysis of Innovation in the English-dubbed Teaching Mode:A Case Study of Wuhan University of Technology开题报告

1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)

with the advent of internet age, various network teaching methods have been pervasive in colleges and universities, such as the campus network and multimedia. a majority of domestic and international academics, who meet the needs of time, are exploring new-type teaching mode to improve students’ second language learning effectively, including innovation in the english-dubbed teaching mode. some domestic scholars have conducted experiments which investigated the outcome of film dubbing projects and find that the english dub enables students to greatly enhance their pronunciation and speaking skills, linguistic senses, as well as intonation by imitation, dubbing and appreciation. in the same vein, overseas scholars claim that dubbing projects help students who are at different proficiency levels in the second language foster an entire learning approach.

"college english course teaching requirement", published by china’s education ministry, requires that college english teaching objectivity should pay more attention to students’ listening and speaking abilities by the introduction of advanced information technology. and students should be provided a good language learning environment. however, although chinese students have been learning english for many years, most of them are unable to speak fluent oral english yet, only "dumb english". it is cramming method of teaching that makes students’ pragmatic competences fall behind their linguistic competences. what’s more, increasingly employers claim that they prefer employees with “the second language plus a certain profession”, in order to overcome the supposed disadvantages and help students in wuhan university of technology improve their practical skills in learning english, it is necessary to explore new-type teaching mode. the english dub meets the supposed demand.

first of all, it is conducive to stimulating students' interests and keeping high motivation. the english dub, different from traditional teaching mode, combine english movies which are one of popular recreations with teaching. not only does it improve students’ interests, but it also makes them acquire native-like diction under situational teaching. meanwhile, in order to understand the meaning of characters conversations as well as handle emotions, students will take the initiative to know about relevant culture.

2. 研究的基本内容与方案

This thesis will make a case study of Wuhan University of Technology as the research materials for an analysis of innovation in the English-dubbed teaching mode. The basic content includes three aspects as follows. Firstly, this thesis will consult the correlated reference to know more about requirements of college English course reform and to learn from successful experiences of some pilot university, which will be investigated its feasibility in Wuhan University of Technology. Secondly, the author will understand teachers’ and students’ thoughts and suggestions to analyze prospect of new teaching mode of the English dub and determine the survey plan by interview investigation. Thirdly, the setup of the present college English curriculum in Wuhan University of Technology will be analyzed its disadvantages and solve those problems about how to improve college students’ practical skills in learning English under the study of Educational Psychology and Constructivism theory. In order to get the result as accurate as possible, the thesis will be based on theoretical foundation, such as educational psychology as well as constructivism. Survey data will be analyzed in detail by using SAS and Excel if necessary. It will use statistical software to analyze such research methods as questionnaire, case analysis and sample interview.
