This paper mainly focuses on the analysis of humorous translation in the U.S. TV sitcom under the theory of Functional Equivalence in order to offer the equal or similar hilarious effect to both the audience in the source language and their counterpart. Through analyzing selected cases in the respects of vocabulary, rhetoric and stylistics, the author will illustrate how to utilize various translation strategies in accordance to the theory of Functional Equivalence. In the end of the paper, suggestions about translation of the humor will be given for future studies within this field.
