1. 研究目的与意义(文献综述)

the dog is calledthe first pet, pet king because of its wisdom and sincerity in the humansociety. dogs are closely associated with human and plays an important role inhuman society. this paper aims to emphasize the importance of the dog in thehuman’s life, through summarizing dogs’ intelligence, loyalty and emotional bondwith mankind from different literary images in novels so as to call on peopleto stop abandoning, killing and abusing dogs, which is not only ethical treatmentto animals, but also kindness to human.

in recent years, therehave been many studies on biological characteristics of dogs and closerelationship between dogs and humans at home and abroad. refer to foreignresearches, in 2016, dogs recognize dogand human emotions written by natalia albuquerque, kun guo, anna wilkinson, carine savalli, emma otta and daniel mills demonstrated that dogs could extractand integrate bimodal sensory emotional information, and can discriminatebetween positive and negative emotions from both humans and dogs. human-doginteraction relies to a large extent on nonverbal communication, and it istherefore plausible that human sensitivity to nonverbal signals affects interactionsbetween human and dogs. in 2014, nonverbalcommunication and human–dog interaction written by meyer iben and forkman, bjouml;rn investigated possible links between human nonverbal sensitivity, experience with dogs, and the quality of human–dog interactions. in 2013, the loyalty of a dog written by chineseauthor, mukai chen pointed out that the only friend in the world who won'tdesert you is you own dog. whether you are rich or poor, healthy or ill, a dogwill always be by your side. the bond betweenman and dog written by jianping li in 2018 illustrated that dogs haveplayed an important role in human society since ancient times.

according to theresearches, the dog is an extremely intelligent animal and it has been anindispensable part in human history. therefore, from philosophical point ofview, protection of animals and respect for life can reflect compassion andsympathy of human beings for the weak, which reflects the moral level of humanbeings. dialectics tells us that human nature has two sides—good side and badside. protecting animals and respecting for life, to some extent, promote theharmonious coexistence of people and animals, inspire humanity in a certainsense, eliminate the ugliness of human nature, promote spiritual civilizationof human society, and promote the moral level of constantly improve humansociety as a whole. especially, showing care and love for pet dogs reflects theconcern and respect for life, which is a kind of noble moral cultivation. inreal life, if a person loves animals, respects life, then the cultivation ofthis person will not be poor. if everyone in the society has a sense of lovingand caring, holds the concept of the "love of animals, respect forlife", then the society is bound to be a highly-civilized society, ahigh-moral-qualified society. this confirms what darwin said: caring aboutanimals is a sign of a person's real cultivation and a sign of a highlycivilized society.
