越来越多的设备连入移动互联网，大量的数据存于云中，人们依靠它解决和自身紧密相关的问题，大数据时代悄然到来，它正变革着我们思维方式、行为方式和生活习惯等。思想政治教育的理论和实践也深受大数据的影响,运用大数据技术探究思想政治教育模式创新是十分必要的，思想政治教育必须与时俱进，及时调整理念和方法。本文在概述大数据时代思想政治教育模式创新研究的背景和意义的基础上，首先分析了思想政治教育面临的机遇与挑战，指出大数据时代为思想政治教育的创新和发展带来了前所未有的机遇，同时也提出了严峻的挑战，把握机遇，迎接挑战，就一定能够实现思想政治教育模式创新，开创思想政治教育新局面。接着论述了大数据时代思想政治教育模式创新必须遵循的原则，即思想政治教育获取信息活动与大数据提取技术相匹配原则、思想政治教育决策过程与大数据分析技术相匹配原则、思想政治教育实施过程与大数据多样化手段相匹配原则、思想政治教育反馈评估与大数据评价技术相匹配原则。最后探讨了大数据时代思想政治教育模式创新的实践路径，主要包括：提高大数据意识，提升思想政治教育的指向性；利用大数据技术，探索思想政治教育的规律性；健全大数据制度，保证思想政治教育的规范化；创新工作方式，充分发挥思想政治教育者的主导作用。
